Ouch Beads

I'd forgotten about these.....
Shame on me because I really enjoy making them, working with clay just makes sense to me!
So with the beads I found, coupled with some hand dyed twine and here are the results!

 I like the copper end caps over any other metal choice...but would you like to see silver and gold?

The Gelati colours remind me of someone.........

if your wondering what Donna from Hung Up on Retro looks like or her personality, then these beads are it!

She popped round the other day and love the yellow colour....me? I could take it or leave it...... but when she popped this coloured bead on...it sung! now I love the colour!

So Donna, these are your colours!

:: Ouch Beads & Typewriters

 I have been experimenting and playing with clay...with the view to coming up with some new ceramic ideas to pursue in 2013!

 I'm very lucky to have finally earnt my long service leave, 10 years of teaching service gets me, a terms holiday...Woo Hoo you can hear me say!

So how about the blossom vase above? 
I have used a lovely black glaze within and the celedon over the simple carved surface.
It's currently hanging with some black dyed twine, but that could change?
It was a pleasure to make...is it a winner?

New beads from the kiln!
I have looked into some ways to make necklaces, the turquoise leather thong, black silk thread and silver silk knitted cord.
All worth a strong considerations for 2013...What are your thoughts??

 Do you like the black ouch bead? I was trying out a gemstone cut!



 On a side note, we went to the local market today! We have my lovely BIL out from the UK, with his extra lovely Fiancee...so we went to show them the sights!
Look what I found!
Originally $30, then another customer asked for best price....$25. I walked away...did an eBay search on the name, made sure I confirmed my suspicions, that it was indeed a lovely object.

I came back to the stall and the gentleman said, "you interested in the typewriter, love"?...urm Yes (smile) "have it for $15" he said......OK thanks!!

It's heavy love!...no worries I have a husband :)  ........LOL you found a use for him then LOL !!

:: New Ouch Beads!

The latest edition of Ouch Beads, with an opaque Pale Pink and translucent Coral Red.
I have been doing some research and I hope to have some porcelain beads in the new year,
now that is something I am excited about!

:: More Beads!

This is what the kiln revealed this morning!
A beautiful indigo glaze! 
I have yellow, pink and a coral red coming soon and maybe even a bronze gold!

I'm on a roll here, I have some time to spend on my creative pursuits so I'm taking it with both hands!

I hope you don't mind coming along for the ride! :)

:: Ouch Beads- SHOP

 A very special friend of mine came round and I wrangled her into modelling the first edition of the Ouch Beads, for the shop!

I could not of asked for a better model!

:: Ouch Beads

 Well some of you remember that I declared my return to clay but in a new way, well these beads are the first cab off the clay rank!

The idea is that you can buy one substantial bead to put on your own necklace.
The Tiffany/Pandora type long chains are very popular at the minute, I have one! (see above)

I have a range of charms hanging off mine, which I change around, so these beads can just add to your jewellery possibilities!

They are pretty big, 4-5 cm and totes handmade! They sit nicely in your hand too, very tactile!

 There are more to come, other colours, shapes and sizes in the kiln as I type!
