Royal Curtsy

The winter light was just right this morning.

I have not edited these images, 'brownies promise' look at the colour of our newly painted lounge room at chez Ouch!

 It's the dulux colour 'Royal Curtsy' very apt for today!
.....wouldn't you say?

Change of camera angle and it looks very dark,
What an amazing colour and here's my new tassel garland!
....with a macramé knot and dyed gold!

 Add some vintage teak beads for a different look!

Latest thrift find, a dish by Broadstairs pottery in the UK.
I think I would like to collect this maker so keep your eyes peeled for me!

:: Willa's Wildlife- Mid Century COOL!

What is not to love?
Via

 So lovely to see such Mid Century cool in kid's television, such a sweet little story but the set drawings have me weak at the knees!

I think I want to live here too, Go Willa!

Total kitchen delight!
I love the trees!

Willa's Wild Life is an French/Canadian/American animated television series that first aired on ABC2 in 2008, then on Qubo and Nickelodeon Canada in 2009. The show is based on Dan Yaccarino's book An Octopus Followed Me Home. It is about a 9 year old girl named Willa (Jordan Todosey) who has some very unusual pets. She has, so far, acquired a giraffe, two elephants, an alligator, and many more exotic animals.

 Images Via cute blog by the Director Adrian Thatcher!

 Watch on the ABC!

Happy Sunday to you!

:: Ercol Crush

Studio Couch

 Did you know that Ercol has come to Australia?

 I have a serious lust list of Ercol furniture and would love to have these beauties!

 You can occasionally pick up an Ercol on eBay, often they are the dark brown stain pieces, not as coveted as the natural elm!

They are on the Hot list of retro furniture to buy and prices can be high!

Love Seat

 Pepple nest of tables.

Here is my very own Ercol, the Grandfather Rocking chair, she is in pristine condition, has had only one lady owner, when she came to stay!
Sadly the dark brown stain is flawless, I would feel too guilty if I changed it, best leave well alone and enjoy!

Happy Weekend!

:: Borge Mogensen

Love the Artworks

 I thought it might be nice to look at the Danish Designers currently featured at the Pop up shop, it's all good to admire the singular chair, sideboard or table but a greater appreciation comes from learning more!

These images are of his home! Nice!

Light filled room, sets off the furniture!
My favourite room, love that light!

Light love!

Børge Mogensen (1914–1972) started his career as a cabinetmaker in 1934. In 1936 he went on to study at the Copenhagen School of Arts and Crafts under Professor Kaare Klint before entering the Royal Academy of Fine Arts from where he graduated as an architect in 1942.
He became head of design at FDB (the Danish co-op) in 1942 before establishing his own design office in 1950.

Sigh!!
Everything!!

 Functional is the word which best describes Børge Mogensen’s design. The majority of his furniture was designed with industrial production in mind and is characterized by strong and simple lines. His true genius is to be found in his almost scientific analysis of the functionality of a piece of furniture.

Wood paneling love!
Perfect blue!

 If I had my choice I think this chair, the Shell Chair, 1949, made by Erhard Rasmussen from teak and beech would be a nice addition to Manor Ouch Flower!

:: Mid Century FAB

 A frenzy of styling occurred today!

My Eames "Fabpat" arrived safe and sound from the U.S, within minutes she was framed and on the wall.
I grabbed a few things in pink and yellow and gave my sideboard wall a lift.
I'm slowly colour blocking my home, see this link for my blue wall!

These Eames patents called Fabpats can be found on Dana's Blog
Mid2Mod or direct from Jennifer's Etsy store.

If you have previously admired these prints, you're not wrong, they are beautiful and fit nicely into an IKEA Ribba frame!

Do you love?

:: Collections #2

 I knew once I styled my blue ceramic and glass wares together in collection #1, I'd need to rearrange what was left....here are pic's of my efforts

I always feel the house is in harmony once everything has its place. Once you change something or add a new addition, this reshuffling, rearranging and maybe a culling....must occur again and again!

:P

Ps Will Mr ouchflower notice?...mmmm
