Today is the second in a series of posts, where I show you 7 basic Macramé knots.
You have been watching me for the past 18 months, now it's your turn!

KNOT #2
Square Knot

Make a pair of Larks Head Knots.

Drape outer blue, over inner blue & inner pink twine! They are called anchors!

a- pink twine over, b-pink twine under, c-pink twine through!

and tightened!

a-look here, this is where you begin again! b- blue twine over anchor twines!

a- pink twine over, b-pink twine under, c-pink twine through!

a- Yeah...square knot!

Repeat, this time blue twine over, then pink, over | under | through :)

Yeah two square knots!

....know for a third, a - note where to start.

and to infinity and beyond!

I really enjoy making the Tassel Top Hangers they are fun!
i loving the new Violet colour....speaking of colour in a couple of weeks time my shipment of new colours arrive!

Alright as you were this lovely, sunny Saturday afternoon!

Mr Ouch is planting some more beetroot, we pickled the last batch and they were yummy! 
Little Ouch is watching Rio and me well probably a bit of Macramé and internet shopping in the sunshine!

I was finally able to recover the Mama chair!

It was a great shame to have to say goodbye to the lovely 50-60's floral but this wing back Parker armchair needed a new frock!

I flipped through countless fabric books, I wanted to honour the mustard colour of the original fabric but to have the whole chair in mustard may have been too much?
so I decided upon the grey with the mustard detail!
I love grey and yellow together....and I hope I don't tire of it?

She sit's nicely amongst the teak and leather furniture also in the room, a bit of sitting will soften the newly upholstered feel but I hope the look will be timeless?

I taught myself a new macrame knot!.....the joys of goggle!
It's called the Chinese crown knot.

I see a macrame necklace idea brewing...what do you think?
I placed a TEAK, yes TEAK bead on for effect. 
I would make a nice porcelain bead for it....is this idea worth persuing?

It would be a very bold piece to wear....but hopefully elegant too?
I use some hand dyed twine, it would take 12m of it to make a decent length necklace, so it would take commitment!
Plus it's time comsuming too!  ....but so lovely to hold too!
If you have any opinions? 
...feel free to express!

Yes a bought a 70's hairy scary macrame just for the beads, they are taken from the twine, washed and danish oiled for me to gaze at and feel :)

Macramé and a Leibster

 I had a commission...this is what they wanted, a tiny macrame for a tiny succulent. I added the tiny tassel.
It was nice to make tiny for a change! :)

 I think I will make some for the shop?

I like my tea, hot, milky and sweet.
To have a balanced life I taking up bike riding, I plan to ride my bike every second day till March 16th, then I will assess if it has been beneficial?(wish me luck)
I have a new passion for goats cheese and quince paste, hence the need for a balanced life?
I haven't smoked for 7 months.
Ouch Flower is going great guns and I'm still pinching myself.
Mr Ouch and I dream about living on Skye in the Outer Hebrides Scotland.
I hope to have another baby one day.
I would love to visit Denmark and Norway one day.
I love thrifting, collecting and sharing.
Instagram has taken over my life! ..in a good way.
I love watching "Hell on Wheels"
I listen to alot of audiobooks, 'Outlander' series is my favourite.

Meet Joanie and Chauchi, the new residents of the ouch flower garden bed! (named by Brismod on instagram)

 And here is my resident landscape designer and river pebble curator, most of all the large river pebbles have been expertly placed by this clever little soul!

This has been a lovely joint project to do together.

This was once a forgotten part of the garden, featuring a sad lavender and a location of a cat toilet but now we have placed all the succulents from their pots into the bed and re-purposed the volcanic rock and river pebbles found from around the garden.

Low cost and maximum impact!

 This is the box that the Flamingo's came in! 

I had to show you, how cool?

..... and a nice summer cocktail recipe for you all to make and enjoy!

It wouldn't be a post without some new crafty business!

Three's a Charm...

 I was going to title this post 'I'm having triplets" but I thought some of you might grab the crochet hook and start making layettes at great speed! :)

So this is my first new design for 2013 
the 'Vertical Garden Hanger'.

I have restrained on the macramé knots and let the turquoise twine do the talking! 
She's a whopper, just under 2m and is carrying 3X10cm sized pots.
I highly recommend trailing plants as this is all about the plants!

 What twine colour should I experiment with next?
