My other LOVE's

I don't think I have too many plants, just not enough WG plant pots to put them in?
Whilst I have been on leave from work, this has been one of my noble pursuits, matching plants with their planters!

Those of you who watched 'Perfect Match' in the 80's....would Dexter be proud? LOL

I have a massive crush on Orla Kiely, I saw her planters online and had to have!

Purple WG! I know, I know!...a very lucky find!

 Vintage macramé for the garden!
They were $5 each, I could not buy the twine materials for that!

Master Ouch, now decorates on his own accord, we may need to have a decorating standoff!
I sometimes wonder if a four year old should not know so much about macramé and cacti!
Will this help him in the future?

 Happy Valentines!

Pippa.

  1. I'm really getting into my indoor gardening too Pippa, but tell me, what do you do for drainage? Alot of those retro planters don't have holes, and the plastic pots show (not good looking) I lost my rosary plant (sob!), because of this I'm sure. I have just bought three Ficus Lyrata's (you know, Fiddle Leaf Fig - huge prehistoric leaves) and I'm on the hunt for pots. Where did you get the mustard one from? (in the last pic) and the white dimply one in the 3rd and 4th? (I know you're a sharer and carer and won't mind telling...)
I love your vintage macrame, and you!

Received samples, thanks. Need to discuss. Will email x

  2. Neglect!
We over love our plants! I have lost a few, but have learnt to provide just splashes of water, keep them wanting more?
I have also found the magic black pots to fit, that was cause for celebration! OMG on the Fiddle Leaf Fig, that's my ultimate plant! The pots I bought from Masters and another local plant store! The Masters one are made in Germany....a nice change!
Do you have Masters in W.A?
I'm still jealous of your figs!
    Xx

    1. Had to get them imported from your side of the world!
Not one single nursery here had them (or heard of them for that matter!) in stock.
We do have a couple of Masters, way out in the sticks though. I'll have to pack a lunch and go shopping!

  3. You lovely indoor gardeners!!!! I just can't do it. Many, many problems including Darwin issues and lack there of (no one survives). I also over water and end up watering the wood floors. I have enough problems with the garden outside. I do have one weakness, orchids. We can get them at the local farmers market pretty reasonably. The Orla planters are charming and quite tempting. Would look nice with an orchid.

  7. Gorgeous pots and plants. I bought another planter/plant stand this week and my husband just about had a heart attack. "NOT ANOTHER ONE". I totally understand loving, collecting, and caring for each one. So much fun. You have some great cacti. I have a really tall one that is leaning over. I'm wondering if I should stake it??
Anyway, they make your home even more beautiful... thanks for sharing.

    1. 'NOt ANOTHER ONE' they are so obvious aren't they! .....it's not the same!
That cacti sounds like it might need a stake....is it leaning for light? ....does it need repotting?
I love it when I see your plant collection too :)

  11. So lovely Pippa! I admire your greenthumb and your wonderful selection of planters. I secretly hoard planters but am always a bit hesitant to fill them! Love your Lisa Larson Lion and your Walter Bosse Cat! LL anything is always on my wish list. I love that twiggy plant in the first photo too. It seems like your climate is kind of similar to Tucson. Maybe (hopefully) not as hot or dry though. I was going to sell my Dansk birds but then plopped some air plants on them and have gotten attached. Cheers!

  14. Francine, get those pots some friends! Tucson does sound like Melbs, we are having back to back 30 degree days at the minute, when it ends there will be a big storm!
My Lion was an anniversary gift, he makes my heart sing, I think he is my most favourite thrifted item!

......and you need an Orla planter too! xx
