Cathrine Holm, tassels, latch hook, blog friends and knot school!

Mine
Ouch Boy Pic

 Yes! that's right!
A Cathrineholm Lotus bowl from the US in such good nic,
I had thoughts I'd bought a fake....(are they fakes, loitering about?)
There has to be perks to returning to full time work and this is it!
....sigh!

My heart has been doing small leaps as this latch hook slowly builds into a shaggy wall hanging, I think this is a better way to repurpose unruly tassels!
I can see myself moving into this more and more!
I think the colour palette will be simple .....natural, black and peach......but chartreuse may sneak in a some point, it's sneaky like that!
What do you think?

Oh and the black tassel is back!
So pleased....

I'm really into black and white at the minute but there has to be a splash of colour!
speaking of Black and White, I visit this blog often to get my fix!
It's very lovely!!!

And Black, White and splashes of Orange never looked so good,
check out this delightful 'Modernist Nest'

Speaking of ace blogs, I met this lady at the Voices 2013, she's lovely and a very busy mum of five!

And this lovely maker too!
Beautiful textiles!

Pop over and say hello!

Yesterday's macramé class went really well and the ladies who came, were keen knotters and the day flew by.......more about that soon!!

  1. I can't wait to see your latch hook wall hanging unfold. I actually made those for my home in the 60s and 70s...but they weren't as beautiful as I know yours will be.

Speaking of beautiful...I included a close-up of the macrame hanger you sent me on today's post. I love, love, love it, and it was so sweet of you to send me a housewarming gift!

The blogs you linked to were wonderful. I love that little black trailer used as a shed.

  6. I used to latch hook in the 70s when I would have been about seven or eight. I loved it. I had a set. It was a bit colour-by-numbers latch hook. My Mum bought it for me to keep me occupied while she was holed-up in hospital after giving birth to my younger sister. Memories.

I love your Cathrinholme. She's divine. They're quite expensive now aren't they? Bless.

And Mel from Coal Valley View ... I really like her and her beautiful children. She's funny and intelligent and normal. So glad she's a blogger you clicked with. Like with like, I think. I wish I had more time to blog and respond to my favourite bloggers. xo

  7. Oh my, that Cathrineholm bowl is such a lucky find, it's in one of my two favorite colors they come in, yellow and black. It's a beauty! I actually haven't heard of any fakes, it's almost strange with the incredible popularity... They make new ones in Denmark now, did you know? It's done by Lucie Kaas in collaboration with Arne Clausen's family. They're ceramic, so they have quite a different feel, but they come in the same great colors and with the large lotuses, like yours. I've seen them in shops here.
Wow, your shaggy wall hanging is a real beauty in the making!!! I love how it looks so far! What a great way to reuse those tassels. I'm sooo looking forward to seeing it finished!!

    1. I have dyed up some chartreuse in anticipation, so much for repurposing, I new the design would need some forethought! ...glad you like it x
