Just wanted to share a few moments at chez Ouch. Just small things really but my heart melted just the same.
Ouch boy decided that he would swim.
He has been going to lessons for two terms...... loving it!
On friday last week he told Mr Ouch that he would swim today, and he did!
A half pool length, no arm floaties, no noodle  (long, thin foam floatie)just elegant arms and kicking legs.
I like that he decided he would do it, then did it!

When asked by me if he'd like to be a baby again?
He said no......I asked why he liked being a big boy?
"Cos big boys learn to do new things"!
I can't disagree with that!

and lastly, his orientation for big school is coming up this week.
His response to this reminder was
"I promise to try, not to be scared".

Oh my heart, my heart....

  1. Very sweet. Swimming a half length of the pool is great (don't reckon I could elegantly swim a half a length of a pool these days - it'd be more like frantic survival), plus he is eager for school & ready to learn - he is on a roll!! Good on him. Little man is growing up ready to take on the world. x

  7. Such a sweet post. Ouch Boy is so wonderful. I took Grandson #1 for his 4-year checkup the other day, and he had to have two shots. He told me he always cried in the past when he got shots. I told him to hold my hand and count, and I promised him each shot would be over before we could get to two. When they were both done, he looked at me with eyes wide with amazement and said, "Wow, Grammo...I didn't cry...just like you said." Then I got teary-eyed. Aren't they beautiful and precious and adorable?
