Vintage Beads + Macramé = Perfect

I made this turquoise 'sling' hanger ages ago...but something was not right?
So whilst thrifting last weekend, I found a bag of vintage beads and Ta Da!

I'm a bit pleased...she is in the shop now!

A special thanks to all of you, who kindly left me birthday wishes, it made my day!
I was treated as a queen by my boys and all my wants and desire were catered for, my very special present which I haven't shared yet...is coming soon!

:: Tupperware, Thrift finds, ...turning 37.

When you get to a certain age, people start inviting you to Tupperware parties, sadly I think I was the presenters nightmare as I didn't buy anything and regaled everyone with how good the retro stuff is and how cheap too!
This set was $10, I gave them to Mr Ouch for his tea's, flour (he bakes our bread) and muesli!

I know I've been busy with the macrame but I'm never to busy to catch up with Donna for a thrift session!
These were $3 each!

My Mum bought me this casserole dish for my birthday, I think it's by J&G Meakin, Habitat pattern C 1953. In my parents early marriage they had a set of plates with this pattern , which I still have. I'm very fond of this piece.

I couldn't resist this skillet, Turi Design called Daisy, Norway.

A Teak or black wood bowl?.....Now the entrance table has some semblance of order!

You get to a certain age where getting new house plants is the top of your birthday list, thanks Dad!
I can't wait to go pot shopping!!

This is what I bought for myself!
A pair of (Australian MC)Tessa Ottomans, lovely black leather, excellent knick!
Teak or Blackwood?

And It wouldn't be a post without macramé, new tri-colour piece, reminds me of Neapolitan ice cream.....yum!

I found a big bag of retro macrame beads!
So beads and macrame it is!

Being 37 is not so bad, three years on the good side of forty they say but I'm looking forward to what's ahead!

 Another hanger!
A great home for your air plant collection of a slow growing cactus!
I have used an indigo glaze and covered the slab pot with loads of pattern...I bet you can see the Bitossi influence now?

I have used natural twine with a gold and indigo ouch bead!

 A new tassel colour!
TEAL, it's lovely and very MC!
I should of done this colour sooner....and look it matches the handsome German!

:: Ouch Flower Macramé Sling Hanger

Hello,
Meet the new Ouch Flower Hanger, it's called the Sling!

After this past year of constant knotting and unknotting only to re knot again!
I have designed my own Hangerunique to me!

It's a very versatile hanger, it comes in many colours and a bit of ombre too!

It can hold a large basket or small glass fish bowl!

Or indeed hold your favourite medium sized teak bowl!

Here's something new two tone Pink!

 Or turquoise!

With a thrifted Czechoslovakian Pot or a woven basket, the overall look is up to you!

The sling!
In the shop soon!

This is what the kiln revealed this morning!
A beautiful indigo glaze!
I have yellow, pink and a coral red coming soon and maybe even a bronze gold!

I'm on a roll here, I have some time to spend on my creative pursuits so I'm taking it with both hands!

I hope you don't mind coming along for the ride! :)

These are in the shop, if your interested?

:: Ouch Planters

Pinch Pot Air Plant Hanger
Tonight I reveal, my first set to Ouch Planters!

My return to clay has been very enjoyable and I have had loads of fun hand building these pieces, typically there are the usual losses to glaze faults and cracking but a bit more testing and I will get it right!
I'm very pleased with these two and I couldn't wait to show you!

A bit  of crazing, so I am looking into a different clay body.

Today's thrift find, a pair of Lotte candlestick holders

This hanger was made from buff raku, it can take a small slow growing cactus or an air plant.
The pattern style is inspired by Bitossi! (thanks MMMC xx)

The design was inspired by a Sunflower.

:: Tassels alot!

 Very festive aren't they?

Who needs a red and green Xmas when you could have this?

This is my first official shop order for tassels, I'm so pleased! Some of these are going to Brisbane, some will stay in Melbourne.  But whilst they are here waiting for more colours to join them I thought I'd have a little play!

 Tassel vignette any one?

I'm playing over at Tania's today too!
